We have been so busy in recent months that
keeping our blog up to date has gone to the bottom of our "to-do" list!
In the spring our new pig, Gloria arrived - apparently a Kunekune,
however she is already far exceeding our expectations of how big she is
supposed to grow! Around the time she joined the Pine Lodge family,
Taurus the Turkey also came to take up residence in one of our stables
(ousted frequently when it is required by horses!). He has proven a
very entertaining individual who will perform a very comical "dance" if
he takes a shine to you, and likes following people around as though he
were a dog! It is quite possible we may seek out a wife for him in due
course... watch this space! Once you have met Taurus, you will never
look at your Christmas dinner in the same way again!
Our summer was full of happy children, many
returning to enjoy their
riding holidays and brushing up on all their riding and horse
management skills, as well as many riders who came for safaris across
the moors. We are delighted that the London Inn at Molland is now open
for business and we have been able to take safaris over the moors to
Molland again.
We enjoyed a wonderful day with a group from Dulverton Youth Club who
experienced a pony day at Pine Lodge.
Last year we introduced a gift voucher
service where our email lady creates a personalised gift voucher
card, so you can give the most wonderful, memorable gift ever. These
have proven incredibly popular with the recipients thoroughly enjoying
their time at Pine Lodge, whether they have been given an hour long
hack, a safari, or even a holiday - the beauty of the vouchers is that
they can be tailored to exactly what you would like to give, there are
no limits on what can be included - we just include all details within
your voucher... and it can be posted either directly to the recipient,
or to yourself so you can pass it on in person - the choice is yours!
We do not charge extra for this service, and we can even leave the date
open so that the recipient can arrange a date to fit in with their
diaries without you having to ask about their plans and arouse
suspicion! All we ask is that the full amount is paid at the time of
ordering the voucher, unlike our normal bookings where a 50% deposit
will secure your booking.
And, our other exciting new plan for this
year is a regular riders loyalty reward scheme! This is very
simple in that once you have ridden 5 times at Pine Lodge, you will
then be entitled to a discount on your 6th ride! This will then
continue so that your next 5 rides will then entitle you to a discount
on what would be your 12th ride!

Well, after all the snow fell, it froze to
-14C last night!!
We feel marooned - hopefully a gritter will get to us today. The
horses and ponies all look well despite the
bitter cold. The stables are all full at present - so there's
always loads of mucking out (ugh...volunteers
welcome...there's plenty of tea and cake!).
It has been hard work keeping them all fed and watered- the water pipes
all froze in the yard! and helpers have not been
able to get here thro the snow.
But, it's a beautiful day here with sun and clear blue sky - feels very
fresh! Lets hope we get a thaw for the weekend so somes
rides can go
out and the horses can get some exercise.

My modern friend has now set us up on
Facebook, so you can keep in touch with all our goings-on there too! http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_174627882566687
