RIDING HOLIDAYS on EXMOOR
Pine Lodge provides riding holidays on Exmoor in South West England for all abilities and ages. The holiday package includes all accommodation and
riding charges - there are no extras.
We can also cater for children accompanied or unaccompanied. Reduced rates for youngsters 17 years and under
(please ask for details).
EXMOOR RIDING HOLIDAY ACCOMMODATION
Guests stay in one of our well appointed stone holiday cottages which adjoin the
stable yard.
Breakfast is served in your cottage - Bobbie's breakfasts are second to none and just the ticket to set riders up for the day ahead.
Breakfast is also a time to discuss and plan for the days ride with your escort.
Supper is for you to arrange - either self-catering in your cottage or there are a number of good restaurants and pubs
within a few minutes drive.
Lunch is often "on the trail" from a picnic provided. Sometimes we can lunch in an inn along the way.
RIDING HOLIDAY DURATION
Our standard riding holiday is 6 nights - arriving Sunday and departing the following Saturday.
Shorter visits are also possible - eg. 3 day breaks during the week are popular.
RIDING HOLIDAY PRICE
£125 per person per night. (children £85)
Includes Bed and Breakfast in your own cottage, plus an escorted all day ride from 11am-5pm (approx).
Weekend breaks are great value:
£230 per person 2 nights Bed and Breakfast accommodation in your own cottage plus a full day ride on
Saturday lunching along the way, plus a 2 hour ride on Sunday morning.(arrive Friday evening, depart Sunday afternoon).
THE EXMOOR RIDING Your trail follows ancient paths amid beautiful scenery. The Exmoor terrain allows for some fast gallops, long
canters and in the summer, even a relaxing swim with your horse! We ride not only on the open heathland commons,
but also in the wooded combes and forests of Exmoor crossing the rivers at fords or bridges.
EXMOOR RIDING HOLIDAYS FOR CHILDREN - CHILDREN'S WEEKS
During their riding holiday, all meals are provided, homemade. They are encouraged to participate as safely as possible
to improve their riding, horse management skills and above all to have a great time.
We have lots of other animals here at Pine Lodge - sheep, a pig called "George", chickens and bantams (who
often sleep in the stables and produce chicks regularly!), ducks and guinea fowl.
There are gymkanas, jumping and activities for the children staying with us unaccompanied - a great chance to win prizes
and rosettes.
We hope they will forge long lasting friendships with people and horses alike, whilst improving their confidence and
riding ability.
